Unique and experiential approach to Mental Health
Traditional room-based therapy is not for everyone. EFP is an evidence based, holistic, and highly specialised form of therapy whereby the horse is an integral part of the process in supporting your psychological wellbeing. All sessions are non-ridden and take place on the ground, where you will work collaboratively with the herd/horse and therapist to complete a range of tasks and exercises that are tailored to your needs. No prior experience or love of horses is required, but I can guarantee you will fall in love with them!

I am an experienced Chartered Educational and Child Psychologist, Paediatric Sleep Consultant, and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist. Through my work, I am aware of the many children, young people, and adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties, and who are not able to access appropriate or timely support from a qualified professional. Consequently, I am passionate about finding different evidence-based approaches to support these groups.

Working with EFP has been lovely. I used the sessions with Laura to focus on myself after some recent trauma. It really opened me up and let me look into myself for things I did not know were underlying issues. Laura made me feel at ease with the horses, who have also been fantastic. It’s a beautiful setting and Laura is very patient. My confidence and ability to work with the horses developed over the sessions and I am looking at myself and the way I view things in a different way. The sessions have slowly started to build up some confidence and made me realise what I need to do for me. The grounding/breathing technique is something I am using daily to help me move forward and with thoughts and feelings that are not positive. I would love to continue sessions with Laura when the time comes as these have been so beneficial for me. Thank you for your time and for helping me.
